Integrated Framework

Starting from the components of a successful project, PMGS has developed an integrated project management framework that provides a simple approach for implementing corporate-level project management practices.

This framework takes two dimensions into account: project management competency and project management organization. It must be customized to suit the organization’s specific context and environment. This framework includes:

  • Education and training: Represents the capacity to provide project management learning services as a basis for implementing efficient project management practices.
  • Assessment of organizational maturity and skill levels: Provides the organization with a baseline by determining its current organizational project management maturity and skill level. Determines the required level to achieve the strategic goals and develops the improvement plan accordingly.
  • Deployment of a methodology: Meets the need to develop a set of processes and models that interact with the organization’s business process and encourages professional project management practices.
  • Centre of expertise: Determines and establishes the characteristics of a centralized structure, often referred to as a Project Management Office, to manage project data, support project management practices and track project performance.
  • Strategic alignment: Ensures that all decisions are aligned on the company’s strategic goals by implementing project portfolio management.

These various components must interact to ensure successful project management within the organization. That is why it is important to consider this process as a transformation project in its own right, aligned on the organization’s culture, and choose the best moment to deploy tools, procedures and training.
